SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:A night in the forest becomes an adventure of love\, laughter\, and magic in this enchanting ballet inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream presented\, once again\, by Inland Pacific Ballet\, the region’s premier ballet company celebrating 30 years of excellence in dance. This timeless story comes to life through dance\, weaving together romance\, humor\, and fantasy in a celebration of Shakespeare’s classic tale\, where fairies play tricks\, friends get caught in mix-ups\, and nothing goes as planned. By sunrise\, the spells are broken\, hearts are set right\, and everyone discovers that even the wildest night can lead to a happy ending. There are only two performances between April 25-26 at Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga. \nThis ballet version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream follows four young lovers who wander into an enchanted forest\, where fairies and magical mischief turn love and reason upside down. As spells are cast and hearts are confused\, chaos transforms into wonder beneath the moonlight. Featuring Inland Pacific Ballet’s Company Dancers and choreographed by the celebrated Laurence Blake\, known as a distinguished performer\, choreographer\, and educator\, along with a score composed by Felix Mendelssohn\, which is highly regarded for its romantic style and thematic connection to the fairy world\, audiences will be enthralled with Queen Titania (Kelsey Dorr) and King Oberon (Special guest artist Reece Taylor\, former IPB Company Member) as they celebrate their dominion over the fairies and their control over the mismatched human lovers in ecstatic dance. The trickster\, Puck (Ahlias Tiamzon)\, gambols throughout the corps spreading magic and mischief. The ballet concludes with an extended\, lavish wedding dance featuring a large and diverse cast amid glorious sets. \n\nSaturday\, April 25; 4:00 pm\nSunday\, April 26; 2:00 pm

SUMMARY:Innerstice
DESCRIPTION:Innerstice is a live music & dance theatre performance. \nA cross-disciplinary collaboration featuring composer/pianist Takumi Kakimoto\, movement artists Mia Snape\, Jalen Scriven\, Kyson Kai\, Ellery Donlon\, and cellist Danny O’Connell. This work is Inspired by the idea of “kintsugi” — the appreciation of the spaces between fractured pieces. \n“We are constantly\, and inevitably changed in the daily life-and-deaths\, \nWe continue to fall back into the circle of repetition and liminal spaces in life\, or break again — Then\, where do we go from there? \nIt is the sad and beautiful struggle of being. And it will always exist throughout the time of our existence. However\, we always remember and carry our history; restart from the bottom of the well; and continuing to experience and remold our own identities and inspire those come after us. \nEngaging in this process is to live a life experience of tuning with one another as humans; staying true to our own artistic research\, and going back-and-forth with the other art form that resonates in expressions and feelings\, generated from the origin of pure love\, the urge to express\, and the very raw authenticity… \nWe are exploring the possibilities between live music and movement\, what it means for musicians and dancers to be in the flow of continuous dialogue and exchange\, honoring\, interweaving\, and transcending our art forms\, histories\, social and cultural experiences\, and means of composition and improvisation around the concept that embraces each stage from breaking\, accepting fractures\, to working towards a new integration\, the continuation of the same but adapted self. It is also a freeing from extraneity in and out of our genuine selves. Everyone is just being\, acknowledging\, and accepting – And I hope you are too\, as you are watching.” \n– Emily L. \nFeaturing artists / emotive beings / thinkers: \nTakumi Kakimoto – composer and pianist (@takumi_kakimoto) \nMia Snape – dancer (@miasnape_) \nJalen Scriven – dancer (@jalenscriven) \nKyson Kai – dancer (@kyson.kai) \nEllery Donlon – dancer (@ellery.dancer) \nDanny O’Connell – cellist (@roco_doco) \nGraphics by Tingjie Feng (@jessesheeeep)

SUMMARY:¿Con Qué se Come?
DESCRIPTION:Queer Chicanx Dance Theater – Reimagining the quinceañera as ritual\, exclusion\, and belonging through abstraction and memory. \nWorld Arts & Cultures/Dance presents ¿Con Qué Se Come? as part of UCLA’s MFA Upstarts Series 2026. Choreographed and directed by Gilberto Martinez Martinez. 10 performers in this evening-length dance theater work investigating the cultural\, religious\, and social strutted embedded within the quinceañera tradition and take into consideration\, their impact on queer Chicanx subjectivity. The performance draws from its emotional and ceremonial logics: processions\, preparation\, spectacle\, communal celebration\, and expectation\, to construct an abstracted world of ritual and transformation. Movement is developed through gestural research\, familial ritual practices\, Catholic iconography\, collective improvisation\, and social dance vernaculars that echo the celebratory aesthetics of a quinceañera. ¿Con Qué Se Come? asks What does it mean to celebrate when the celebration was not meant for us?

SUMMARY:MUTATE
DESCRIPTION:Mutate | is a selection of multi-medium performances curated by Masha to revisit her cancer diagnosis and how it has changed her relationship with dance. Masha was diagnosed with AML in Russia while pursuing her dream as a professional ballet dancer. From her sudden diagnosis\, her sense of self\, image\, and direction came crumbling down in a matter of seconds. How could a future and identity that she had been building for half of her life dissipate so quickly? Was this life not meant for her? \nSince her diagnosis\, cancer has mutated Masha’s relationship with dance. Dance no longer grows cancerously inside of Masha as a performer\, but rather grows alongside her as a reflection. \nThe night will include performances from former Principal dancer of Canada National Ballet Skylar Campbell and dancer Jaclyn Oakley\, USC BFA student Garris Munez\, a world premiere choreographed by Masha Cherezova\, comedian and breast cancer survivor Julia Johns + film screenings from various artists. \n\n\nAll profits will be donated to Blood Cancer United and their fight towards saving more lives via Masha’s campaign Raise the Barre.

SUMMARY:In The Garden
DESCRIPTION:Donna Sternberg & Dancers presents In The Garden\, a site-specific performance at the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica.  The beautiful garden landscape at the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica serves as a stage for five dancers.  Gliding on pathways\, moving amongst the plants and seated in various locations\, the dancers perform in different areas while the audience moves along with them.  In The Garden uses the framework of plant biology to explore plant life.  Ripe with stunning imagery the work dives into topics such as beauty\, protection\, environmental degradation and decomposition.  In The Garden is a continuation of Donna Sternberg & Dancers science series\, that seeks to build bridges between science and dance by using scientific investigation to draw metaphors for human engagement.
