SUMMARY:KaJe Movement Collective's Dance Apprentice Call
DESCRIPTION:KaJe Movement Collective is looking for an apprentice dancer to support the development of their 2025 Jacob Pillow’s Premiere. Apprentices will work with the company during the following dates: \nJune 23\, 3 – 7 pm @ Pieter Performance Space\nJune 24\, 12 – 4pm @ Pieter Performance Space\nJune 25\, 12 – 4pm @ Pieter Performance Space\nJune 26\, 10 – 1 pm & 3 – 7 pm @ Pieter Performance Space \nThe Apprentice will be responsible for understudying dancer roles and serve as an assistant to the choreographer (including\, but not limited to\, supporting the capturing of BTS footage\, administrative support\, etc.). Apprentices should be strong within Afro-Diasporic (e.g. Afrobeats\, Dancehall\, Afro-Contemporary\, Afro-Caribbean Forms) and/or Street Styles. \nThis apprenticeship is geared towards college students\, recent graduates\, and pre-professionals. Apprenticeship will offer pre-professional training with KaJe Movement\, a letter of recommendation for future needs\, and additional academic program support can be provided on an as-needed basis. Our choreographies honor the impact of Black histories\, the vibrancy of Black joy\, and the urgency of liberation. Rooted in rhythms of the African diaspora\, social dance\, and contemporary expression\, KaJe MC integrates spoken word\, musical composition\, and cinematic visuals to evoke\, educate\, and represent our culture as the global majority.
